Amanda Elliott is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who joined M&A in 2015. Amanda specializes in treating PTSD/trauma, depression/mood disorders, anxiety, eating disorders, and OCD. She is also skilled in addressing the challenges of life transitions, relationships, body image, self-esteem, personal growth and issues of sexuality, spirituality and gender. Her approach is client-centered, creative and collaborative. Amanda seeks to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, validated and understood. Amanda is also a certified Yoga and Meditation instructor and may incorporate meditation/mindfulness-based practices into client treatment when welcomed and appropriate.
Amanda began working in the mental health field in 1998 and has provided services in the following settings: outpatient behavioral health centers (hospital-affiliated and community-based), employee assistance and behavioral health managed care programs, nonprofit organizations, and residential and transitional living centers. She has experience working with individuals, couples, families, teens, children and groups.
Amanda obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Family, Consumer and Nutrition Sciences from Northern Illinois University in 2004 and a Master’s degree in Social Work (with a concentration in clinical mental health) from Loyola University Chicago in 2009. She is a member of The National Association of Social Workers and The Yoga Alliance.
